Merger with Big Solar Co-op

Leominster Sunrise Coop has now merged with Big Solar Co-op.

The Board have been looking for a way to reduce their administrative burden while securing the legacy of the Society. At a series of meetings, Members voted to transfer the engagements of Leominster Sunrise Co-op to the Big Solar Co-op. Some members opted to have their capital returned; the majority opted to become members of Big Solar Co-op.

Big Solar Co-op is a Co-operative Society with similar aims to Leominster Sunrise Coop but a UK-wide focus. It provides resources for volunteers to get new solar built, and we are hoping that new solar sites in Leominster can be found to join the Primary School and Big Solar Co-ops existing large solar array at Kerry Foods in nearby Tenbury Wells, along with a growing portfolio of projects across the Midlands and further afield.
